Sometimes the accusation is teamkilling, and everyone goes pre-emptive and kills them off first "just in case" - and all the while, it's just because someone doesn't want to lose their precious place at the top of a scoreboard. They get preferentially targeted, even by teammates. Everyone knows not to have anything to do with *THAT GUY* because he cheats.
Sometimes, when someone makes one of them look bad, or even just looks like they're a threat, the hackusations start flying. I've seen game communities where there's a group of "top" players who are respected as the best of the best. But because there was a video of "him" cheating, he was thrown out.
The game didn't run online and didn't need validation of player names in any form. He didn't own a PS2 or a copy of the game he supposedly cheated in. There are plenty of ways to do it, and it takes very litle effort in many cases.Īlso, I've seen a guy get refused entry to a tournament because someone posted a video of another player using his screen name and cheating in a PS2 game. Simply report these players, and pass things like that onto the mods I know for a fact space eye passes things like that onto the devs who can obviously investigate and make appropriate bans.Įval, new players are not going to stick around (or worse, they’ll try to hack themselves) if they see blatant hacks and the Devs failing to do anything about it. Lastly, anti cheat only stops honest people the people that are going to hack and exploit will always find away. It would take a lot of resources that freejam already seems to be low on. It would be hard to maintain an anti hack with so much change happening.
